Tecnorent at ACM FAT *2020

Barcelona is one of the preferred destinations for international events and meetings. Many institutions and big companies choose Barcelona as their first option, the city offers multiple venues and facilities for any kind of meeting, events and conferences.

January closes with the celebration of ACM FAT 2020 crossing the borders of the United States for first time, we are so glad to welcome it to our lovely city.

The first edition of ACM FAT was held in 2018 in the city of New York, and due to the great success, was followed by a second edition in 2019 in Atlanta (USA). In this third edition, ACM FAT has visited Barcelona bringing together academics from different nationalities and specialties (computer science, law, social sciences, etc.).

The congress ACM FAT, is a joint effort between the two entities that composes its name: ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) and FAT (Fairness, Accountability and Transparency). The Conference takes place from 27 to 30 of January and consists of a series of conferences and workshops realized in the conference rooms of the Hotel Barceló Sants. The main topic of the congress focuses on the interaction between technology and people, and how it can be analyzed and how influence on psychological and cultural relationships in a certain society.

The common objective of this conference is to investigate and get this problem and look for solutions, reflecting on the benefits and existing risks in the current society, encouraging this way the research on equity, responsibility and transparency.

Technical display

For this edition, Tecnorent is collaborating with a wide audiovisual equipment and high skilled technical team, which is responsible of the installation and operation of three impressive LED screens, sound system, lighting, optimization and contents management and streaming service.

The plenary room was dressed with three modular Unilumin large format LED screens; the installation of the sound system has also been fully carried out, with 16 speakers to cover the 1,000sqm of the plenary room, followed by the latest generation microphone system. In addition, we have taken care of giving a touch of color to the room through beautiful ambient lighting.

In addition the plenary room, different workshops and conferences take place between the 11 adjacent rooms, where Tecnorent has installed projectors and sound systems for the different presentations.

All these presentations are recorded and streamed through the internet using a dedicated server, with high simultaneous connections capacity; this allows people around the world to follow the presentations, videos and PowerPoints in the conference website.

Tecnorent team is in charge of the plenary room and Breakout rooms ensuring that every meeting takes place under optimal technical conditions.
